llmstxt.h1.missing

An llms.txt must have an H1 naming the site

warningsite-wideguideline

Why it matters

The proposal calls the H1 the only required section: the name of the site, before anything else the file says. Without it the file is not an llms.txt by its own definition. goflag reads it the way CommonMark spells it, # Name with a space after the #.

What the finding looks like

The message goflag prints, with example values substituted.

warn llmstxt.h1.missing /llms.txt has no H1 (# Name, with a space after the #). The proposal calls it the only required section — without it the file is not an llms.txt by its own definition, and a reader following the format has no name for what the rest describes.

How to fix it

The catalogue carries no snippet for a site rule: a cross-page rule builds its remedy from what the crawl found, so goflag attaches the fix to the finding itself rather than to the rule. Run it and read the finding.

Says who?

This rule is guideline, and it cites the document below. Nothing here is goflag’s opinion of what a good page looks like — if you disagree with a finding, this is what you are disagreeing with.
